The content of the Finnish online course

Our language learning experience has been made easy and clear

The course includes a total of 38 pages of materials, divided into 13 different sections. This ensures clarity in navigating between study materials. All materials are provided as downloadable PDF files and interactive sections, including listening and writing exercises.

With a variety of materials, you can choose the study method that suits you best.

PDF FILES

You can download the PDF files and print them out. Having a paper version on your living room table may encourage you to engage with the materials more frequently.

In these sections, you can listen to words and sentences, as well as practice writing them in both Finnish and English.

COLORS AND CLEAR SECTIONS

The various topics and sections of the materials are divided into different colored boxes. Colors enhance memory and facilitate the distinction between sections, making studying clearer.


Studying learning materials 1-4 will give you the skills for conversations. Additionally, you can learn words on topics of your choice. We mainly focus on using words in the "I" form, as in everyday conversations you use mostly "I" sentences.

CONTENTS OF THE SECTIONS: 

  • Personal and possessive forms
  • Key grammar points for conversations briefly, such as:
    • Changing verbs (actions) into past tense
    • Forming plurals
    • Forming question sentences
    • Forming comparison words, such as short, shorter, shortest
    • How to do something, such as quickly, slowly
    • Use of 'from', 'to', 'in', and 'at' in relation to places
    • Use of 'in', 'on', and 'at' in relation to time expressions
  • Common phrases for daily conversation and travel
  • Common verbs in present and past tense (actions)  (I, you, he/she, we, you, they forms)
  • Common adjectives (describing words)
  • Common auxiliary words, such as if, when, because, so, etc.
  • Prepositions (where something is)
  • Word lists on various topics, such as body, food, home, clothing, weather, health, school, work, animals, hobbies, shopping, question words, colors, numbers, ordinal numbers, dates, places, transportations, days of the week, months, times of day, family members etc.
  • One-page travel essentials for individuals who don't need more but want to get by while traveling

Our approach to language learning is to discard rigid grammar memorization and focus on learning essential things.
